Do I need to download anything?

No. The link opens in your browser and records there. There's no app to install and no account to make.

What do you ask me for?

A first name, so the host knows who left the message. An email only if you want to be told when your message goes live — you can leave it blank.

Can I watch it back before it's sent?

Yes. Nothing is sent until you've seen it and pressed send. Retake as many times as you like.

How long can my message be?

The host chooses: thirty seconds, one minute, or three. You'll see the limit counting down while you record.

Can I record voice instead of video?

If the host allows it, yes — pick 'Voice only' before you start. Same flow, no camera.

Can I take it back?

Ask the host — they can delete any message in their album. Or email us with the event name and we'll pass it on.

For hosts

How do guests find my event?

Every event gets a link and a QR code. Print the code for a table card, or send the link by message. Both go to the same place.

Why does my event need an intro?

It's the first thing a guest sees, and it's the difference between a message and an awkward silence. Record one from your phone, or upload a video you already have. Your event opens once it's there.

What happens after 37 days?

The event and every file in it is deleted automatically. Download anything you want to keep before then, or keep the whole album for $1.99 a month — it stays exactly as it is.

Can I add my own photos?

Yes. 'Add to album' takes photos, a written note, or a message of your own, and they sit alongside the guests' in the same album.

Someone left something unpleasant.

Hide it, delete it, or block whoever left it — all from the album, no support ticket. Only the event owner can moderate; co-hosts can add but not remove.

Can somebody else help me run it?

Add a co-host. They can add to the album and see everything; blocking and deleting stay with you.

Privacy policy

What we collect

From hosts: an email address and a display name, plus the events you make. From guests: the name they type, an email only if they choose to give one, and the recording itself. We also keep a device signature for each submission so a host who blocks someone can make it stick.

What we don't do

We don't sell anything to anybody, we don't advertise against your album, and we don't use your recordings to train anything. Recordings are readable by the host of that event and the guest who made them — nobody else.

Where it lives

Recordings and host intros are held in private storage with per-row access rules; a file is only reachable through a link issued to someone entitled to it. Video is compressed on your device before it's uploaded.

How long we keep it

37 days from the day the event is created, then the event and all its files are deleted automatically. Keep the event with a subscription and it's held for as long as that subscription runs. Cancel and the normal deletion applies.

Deleting things yourself

A host can delete a single message, or the whole event and everything in it, at any moment — from the album. Deleting an account removes the events you own along with it.

The short version

Make events, collect messages, keep or download them. Don't use ChuEok to hurt anybody. If you break that, we can close your account.

Your content

Recordings belong to the people who made them; the album belongs to the host who collected it. You give us only the permission needed to store the files, show them to the host, and let the host download them.

Free window and keeping

Every event is free for 37 days. To keep one past that costs $1.99 a month, billed through the App Store, cancellable there at any time. We'll warn you before an event is due to go.

What we don't promise

We work hard to keep files safe, but this is not a backup service. Download anything you can't afford to lose.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll tell hosts by email before it takes effect.

Acceptable use

ChuEok is for messages people are glad to receive. Don’t record or upload any of the following, and don’t help anyone else do it:

• Recordings of someone who hasn't agreed to be recorded, or of a child without their parent's say-so.
• Harassment, threats, or messages meant to frighten or humiliate the person receiving them.
• Sexual content, or anything sexualising a minor — this one we report.
• Hate directed at people for who they are.
• Impersonating someone else in order to be let into an event.
• Anything you don't hold the rights to — including music you've licensed for listening, not publishing.

Hosts can hide, delete, and block from inside their album. Anyone can report a memory from the album; reports reach us directly. We remove content that breaks this policy and, where the law requires it, report it further.
